Ruling our spirit

A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls
Proverbs 25:28

Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city
Proverbs 16:32

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17

Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
Ephesians 5:18-19

Therefore being filled with the Holy Spirit, living a life of goodness and peace and joy that is of/in the Holy Spirit (which is available to all who believe on Him in the New Covenant has a form of self-control that) is better than conquering a city.
